Mexican Mission Trip Update: Day 5

Another great day here in Mexico. Today was the first Sunday service of the church our team biult. It was a momentus day not only for our team but the congregation that will be worshiping God at this church for years and generations to come. This was also the last full day of our trip so we were expecting God to move mightily.

Our first line of business of the day was to dedicate the church to God and hand the keys off to Pastor Oscar and his congregation. What an awesome moment to think how many lives in Baja will be saved because of this church and it’s people.

The worship service was an amazing expereience. You can really tell how much these people love God and want to see his Kingdom advanced in Mexico. One of our team leaders Pastor Raul Ortiz had the oppurtunity to give an encouraging message to the congregation. We were then able to pray over the congregation that this church would be a beacon of light to the region and to all of Mexico.

After the actual service was over we then got to baptize 17 people in the baptismal that was built inside the church. My favorite moment of the whole trip for me was when I got to baptize several of these people and told each of them before they were submerged that when Jesus was baptized God tore open the sky and looked down on Him and said “You are my son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased” and I believed that is exactly what God was doing today. The look on their face when they really understood how much there Father loved them was awesome.

The rest of the day was free time for the team. We went back to the hotel, had lunch and spent time just enjoying fellowship with the other missionaries before the team separated and went back to their respective homes in Florida, Hawaii, California, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

What an incredible experience, a trip that I will never forget. So many awesome things happened not only to the people of Baja, Mexico but to the team as well. It’s incredible what God’s people can do when we are focused on a single goal. A home, a classroom, and a church were built in 4 days and over 500 people entered a relationship with Jesus Christ.

If there is one thing I can take from this trip is that God has such love for all His children. God’s love transcends language, culture, financial status, or nationality. Can’t wait for the next mission trip and for you to join me!!
